About Me

I’m Caroline, a BABCP Accredited Psychotherapist offering a confidential and supportive space to explore life’s challenges and help you move towards meaningful change.

What Is CBT

CBT is a practical, evidence-based talking therapy that helps you understand how your thoughts, feelings and behaviours are connected. It works by helping you to develop simple, effective strategies to cope more confidently with what has been feeling difficult.

About Me

I believe therapy should be relaxed, not clinical, wooden or full of airs and graces. I offer a down-to-Earth, warm, welcoming and honest space where you are invited to be, just as you are, and where it’s ok to not have everything figured out.

Dash, my quiet, calm and friendly miniature dachshund is often with me and offers companionable presence, although if you prefer he can stay at home.

Accredited Cognitive Behavioural Therapy

When I am not in clinic, you will find me running my children around to various after-school clubs, volunteering at a local school, in my muddy boots on long walks in the beautiful Shropshire countryside or browsing in the garden centre (because I always find room for one more plant!).

BABCP Accredited Therapist

Finding the right therapist can feel overwhelming, especially with so many qualifications and approaches to consider. Look no further – you’re in safe hands.

I am accredited by the British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Therapists (BABCP), which means I meet their high standards for training, knowledge, and clinical practice in CBT.

I am committed to working within professional and ethical guidelines and continually update my skills to ensure I offer the most effective, evidence-based support possible.

I can provide support for a range of needs, including:

  • Depression

  • Anxiety (specific or generalised worries and nerves)

  • Specific phobias

  • Panic

  • Agoraphobia

  • Compulsive disorder

  • Unwanted nervous habits (skin picking, nail biting, hair pulling)

  • Perfectionism

  • Stress

  • Pain management

  • Low self-confidence/esteem

  • Trauma (PTSD)

  • Weight loss (overweight and very overweight)

  • Comfort eating/overeating

  • Insomnia

  • Lack of motivation (procrastination)

  • Social/performance anxiety

People often come to CBT because something in life feels difficult, overwhelming, or stuck. CBT offers a practical, supportive way to understand what’s going on and begin making meaningful changes.

Together, we’ll explore how your thoughts, feelings, and behaviours are connected, and gently work towards shifting the patterns that are keeping you stuck. Along the way, you’ll learn simple, effective strategies to manage challenges in the moment and build confidence in your ability to cope.

Many people find that CBT not only helps them feel better, but also gives them lasting tools they can continue to use long after therapy has ended—helping them feel more in control, resilient, and able to move forward with greater ease.

CBT is the psychological therapy of choice recommended for a variety of mental health problems by the National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE).

Client Testimonials

“Having just successfully completed my CBT programme with Caroline, I can’t thank her enough for helping me get my life back to where I want it to be. I can now start living again and in complete control of my OCD.”

“I approached Caroline at Feel Better CBT to rebuild my self-esteem. She was fantastic and helped me to understand that just because I think something about myself, it doesn’t mean it’s actually true. At every step of my journey, Caroline was supportive, understanding and professional and I felt very comfortable working alongside her. The work I have done with her has had a dramatic impact on my opinion of myself. I am still using the tools that she introduced me to and without question, I do now feel much happier. I found the experience eye-opening and constructive and I would definitely recommend Feel Better CBT to people who are looking to actively participate in solving whatever issue they may be experiencing.”

“I went to Caroline for help with an unusual phobia that I’ve had for over five years. I was amazed that what I thought was an untreatable fear could be conquered in just over one month. It’s a huge burden off my life.”

“Thank you Caroline for putting me on the right path out of depression.”

    Fees

    • I offer individual therapy sessions at a standard rate of £55.00/hour.

    • An initial assessment session gives us a chance to explore what’s bringing you to therapy and see whether we feel like a good fit to work together.

    • There’s no obligation to continue after this — it’s simply a starting point.

    • Most clients begin with an initial 6-session phase, meeting weekly or fortnightly. This gives us enough time to properly explore what’s going on and start making meaningful progress.

    • We review together at the end of this period and decide how you’d like to continue.

    • I offer both short-term and longer-term therapeutic support.
    • I accept health insurance with AXA, Cigna and Aviva.
