Before becoming a self-employed therapist, I worked for over 11 years for the NHS in an award winning public health weight management team. Latterly, I specialised in providing psychological weight loss support to morbidly obese patients undertaking lifestyle change behaviours.
Over the years, I have had the privilege of working with hundreds of people who have benefited from using my CBT skills, tools and techniques. They have gone on to lead happier and healthier lives both physically and mentally.
When accessing therapy, it is often reassuring to know that your therapist is working to high standards of practice in their profession. Being a BABCP accredited therapist demonstrates that I have achieved their high standards for training, knowledge and clinical practice in this field, and that I uphold their codes of professional conduct and ethical practice. In addition, I receive monthly clinical supervision with a fellow BABCP Accredited Therapist, and undertake regular on-going professional development training.
You can be assured of being treated with respect and as an equal, without judgement or stigma and with warmth, understanding and empathy. I will work openly and honestly with you and will encourage you to be the same with me.
I recognise change is not easy, therefore, CBT may also include motivational interviewing and behaviour change skills, tools and techniques to help you explore barriers to change and how these may be overcome.
I have always lived in the Telford area, am married with a family and two cats and enjoy reading, creative arts and the outdoors.
